Life Drawings From Safehouse Atelier's Figure drawing class

Since my last update, I've since moved to San Francisco and have begun attending figure drawing classes at Safehouse Atelier. Here are products of my first four months.

Here's some new stuff. Remembering to update a blog is a bit tougher than I thought.

Character Concept:

This digital study was done from a photo that can be found at posespace.com. Posespace is a great resource if you decide you'd like to drop 15 bucks to get a variety of hi-res pictures of models in various poses. What makes it unique is that you often get shots from a full orbit around the model to get a better sense of volume and three dimensionality. I still prefer a live model but I feel like this turned out to be a decent exercise during a light work day.

 

This is a master study painted from a John Singer Sargent self sortrait.

Self-Portrait

Here's a 1hr and 45min self portrait. I suspended a mirror over my Monitor and Tablet at about a 75 degree incline.
